Banana Bread

Ingredients

Bananas
Butter
Sugar
Baking soda
Salt
Eggs
Flour
Vanilla extract

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C/gas mark 4.
  2. Butter a roasting tin to stop the mixture sticking.
  3. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until completely smooth.
  4. Melt some butter in a pan.
  5. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  6. Mix in the baking soda and salt.
  7. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  8. Mix in the flour.
  9. Pour the mixture into your prepared tin.
  10. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour. It might take longer depending on the size of the tin.
  11. Remove from oven and cool completely on a rack.
  12. Remove the banana bread from the tin.
  13. Slice and serve. (A bread knife helps to make slices that aren’t crumbly.)
