We’re FoodCycle Clacton-on-Sea! We serve every Monday lunchtime at the Trinity Methodist Church. Each week, a bunch of willing volunteers collect surplus fruit and vegetables from Sainsbury’s and local markets and turn these ingredients into tasty three-course meals.

This meal will be on a break from 2nd September.

The project is only made possible with the great volunteers giving their time, enthusiasm and energy. We have opportunities available for people to come along and cook, host guests and be involved in collecting the surplus food donations from local suppliers.

You don’t need to have any previous cooking experience, although if you do that is just as welcome! We want as many local volunteers as possible and everyone is welcome to be a part of FoodCycle Clacton.

Please email [email protected] if you need more information.

You get to know people through the café… you get a meal and a cup of tea and you’re able to talk to other people that might have gone through the same as you. I had a really bad breakdown just over a year ago, and it’s only in the past few weeks that I’ve come back out of me shell and feel myself again… When you’re able to start speaking to people like yourself, it makes it better, it makes it easier on yourself.
