Get out in the fields!

With our friends at Feedback, we’re working to inspire more than 4,000 young people to join us in the fight against food waste and hunger. This project is called From Farm to Fork and is exactly what it says on the tin!

We collect some of the thousands of tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables that are wasted on farms every year because they do not meet strict cosmetic standards and then head to a FoodCycle project to cook three-course meals and serve hungry guests.

Big impact

  • 4,200 young people will be engaged as volunteers and receive training and education
  • 90 farmers will host gleaning days on their farms
  • 245 tonnes of food (the equivalent of 3 million portions) of food will be diverted from waste and this is will create 81,000 meals

The future is bright!

From Farm to Fork is part of Our Bright Future, a £33 million programme funded by the Big Lottery Fund and run by a consortium of eight organisations which is led by The Wildlife Trusts. Our Bright Future aims to tackle three big challenges facing society today – a lack of social cohesion, a lack of opportunities for young people and vulnerability to climate change.

Sounds amazing! How can I get involved?

All you have to do is sign up as a FoodCycle volunteer then head on over to Feedback’s volunteer page to sign-up as a gleaning volunteer.

We can’t wait to see you in the fields soon!
