Community Cafés

Using FoodCycle's established operation model, we are now developing community cafes, where hearty meals will be served at fair, affordable prices.

The cafes will be open to everyone around lunchtimes for up to five days each week.

Healthy, affordable food for all.

The whole community will benefit from access to affordable and nutritious food in a welcoming environment. Cooking skills and nutritional knowledge will also be passed on in 'non-confrontational' and 'non-prescriptive' methods.

Fun, interactive place to learn.

People can take part in our film nights, workshops and other activities like cooking lessons to learn more about healthy eating, meet new people, and of course eat good food!

Volunteer opportunities.

All volunteers will be trained for accreditation in Level 2 Food Safety in Catering. They will also benefit from hands on training during the cooking sessions. These skills will be highly useful in any future employment and every volunteer will fill a position that did not previously exist.
